Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROCESS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER in the PROCESS IMPROVEMENT DIVISION, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. TEMPORARY PROMOTION NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR AND MAY BECOME PERMANENT without further competition Responsibilities You will plan, schedule, execute and report complex process capability and quality analysis. You will develop and implement standardized accountability of process problem resolution in the Production Resources Department. You will be responsible for the maintenance, improvement and development of all departmental instructions and process instructions. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates; set priorities and prepare schedules. You will assign work to subordinates; evaluate performance; give advice, counsel, or instruct on both work and administrative matters. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: – Experience with shipyard production trades and technical methods, practices, procedures, materials, processes, workflow, and equipment associated with production shop and ship work. – Experience with specialized practical knowledge of the shops skill practices and operation for both nuclear and non-nuclear work. – Experience utilizing theories, principles, and practices of industrial production management and of the nature and operation of ship repair activities. – Experience with shipyard organizational structure. – Experience developing new methods, techniques, approaches, or to improve upon those already established.
