Administrative Assistant

West Sound Workforce is partnering with a Tacoma-based municipality to find a Temporary Administrative Assistant to support their housing program for low-income families. This organization provides safe, affordable housing to over 5,000 households each year in Pierce County.

In this role, you will use your customer service and time management skills to assist community members and landlords with Housing Choice vouchers. The ideal candidate is assertive yet compassionate, comfortable working with the public, and respectful of privacy.

– Tacoma
– Lakewood
– Fife

Shift information:

– Full-time or part-time options
– Monday — Friday
– 8am — 5pm or 8:30am — 12:30pm

What you will do as a Temporary Administrative Assistant:

– Interface with customers and community members via phone, in-person, and virtually
– Provide a high level of customer service, addressing complaints promptly
– Scan and index paperwork according to policy and procedure
– Prepare correspondence, emails, memos, and data to support department needs

What we are looking for:

– 2 years experience as a front office administrative assistant support capacity
– Experience in a municipal setting and/or housing program is a plus
– A professional demeanor and customer service skills
– Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
– Experience with database systems preferred
– A strong sense of organization and attention to detail
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
