Purpose of Position

The Fleet Mechanic is accountable for keeping the Inland Power fleet vehicles and support vehicles in good working order.  This position troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains fleet vehicles and other production equipment.  In addition, Fleet Mechanics maintain documentation accompanying repairs and servicing of Inland Power vehicles.

1. Diagnose, repair and maintenance of both gas and diesel truck engines, suspension, brakes, and other standard vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.

 

2. Fabricate new equipment and modifications to existing equipment.  Repair tools as needed.

 

3. Diagnose, repair and maintains transmissions.

 

4. Diagnose, repair and maintains hydraulics on booms.

 

5. Diagnose, repair and maintains lifts.

 

6. Exceptional trouble shooting skills and the aptitude to learn various types of equipment.

 

7. Maintain fleet records including, but not limited to, maintenance work to be done, fuel consumption and spare parts inventory.
