Description

This position requires an individual that will be responsible for the proactive, day-to-day monitoring of the Amazon Safety program. This individual will assist the safety manager in monitoring safety compliance and provide assistance in the identification of potential safety hazards within the SC environment. The qualified candidate will engage in a professional manner with the entire SC workforce and management team as it relates to safety awareness and education. The candidate will communicate, both written and orally, to assist in correcting violations and promote the program of safety awareness.

Key job responsibilities

• Assist in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the workplace to ensure compliance with Company Safety policies in order to provide a safe and secure workplace for employees, visitors, vendors, and guests.

• Maintain daily, documentation requirements to report activities, and other related safety prevention matters.

• Complete ergonomic assessments on job tasks, incorporating findings into applicable Standard Work.

• Coordinate with any outside emergency agency, Fire, Police, Sheriff, OSHA, etc.

• Be a leader in customer service to the Operations team. Understand and frequently work in operations process paths.

• Respond to situations, as they arise, based on direction from the Safety Manager.

• Perform site physical condition safety observations, associate safety behavior observations; and, audits and inspections in relation to fire and safety related equipment.

• Conduct training and participate in new manager orientations, associate orientations, and pre-shift meetings.

• Assist in CPR/First aid, power equipment training and any other programs assigned by the Safety Manager.

• Facilitate and attend 5S and Kaizen events.

Basic Qualifications

– 1 years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience

– Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

– High school or equivalent

– Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

– Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
