Pay range: $22-24/hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
The NDT Assistant will assist with non-destructive testing of piping systems and fixed equipment as directed by the Senior Inspector within their assigned area(s) of responsibility. The work schedule will be a rotational hitch of 21 days on followed by 21 days off. Daily work shifts will be 12 hours, including a paid 30 minute lunch break.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
Assist with required NDE of inspections areas as directed by the Mistras Inspector
Identify inspection locations in accordance with written procedures.
Document inspection findings appropriately for the given method.
Create UT Sketches for documenting locations and inspection results and submit to Mistras Inspector or Mistras Lead Inspector
Immediately report equipment malfunctions/damage to supervisor and/or MTE.
Perform all duties in accordance with applicable Mistras and safety requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a 40-hour Industrial Radiation Safety Course
Ability to pass a Level -I Rope Access Course
Successfully clear Mistras T&R background check to handle radioactive materials
Ability to prepare formal NDT inspection reports in accordance with applicable Mistras procedures
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel.
Must be a self-starter, with strong work ethic.
Able to secure homeland security clearance for Trustworthy and Reliable (T&R).
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license
PREFFERED ATTRIBUTES:
Current level I or higher Rope Access certification (IRATA or SPRAT)
Ability to read P&IDs
Experience working with an Inspection Data Management System (IDMS)
Completion of formal classroom training for MT, PT, UT and RT
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
