Cost Analyst

Position Description

This position is responsible for the development of cost estimates, assistance in negotiations and audits, and calculating monthly cost accruals/invoicing on various types of contracts.

Essential Functions

  • Supports the quoting activity of the Contracts, Sales & Engineering Groups with cost estimates
  • Pulls data from multiple computer systems to produce coherent and supportable estimates of present and future costs
  • Complies with government regulations FAR and DFAR as well as company policies
  • Understands the difference between standard and actual cost accounting principles
  • Has a business acumen, ability to analyze costing results and reasonableness

Critical Competencies

  • Strong analytical experience for gross margin analysis
  • Attention to details and flexible outlook
  • Good organizational, data collection and multi-tasking skills
  • Tenacious, inquisitive, driven, and a sense of urgency
  • Experience with FAR and DFAR would be a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ERP Software experience

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
  • 1 years of experience in finance or accounting work, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.
