Global Workplace and Enterprise Services undertakes the management of facilities across our company. This includes leasing, buying, and selling real estate, facilitating workspace design and occupancy, and managing the operations and maintenance of the facilities.
Our Company leverages analytics and automation capability to improve upon how we use, operate, and maintain our facilities. Technology continues to evolve with significant advances to manage facilities and their lifecycle and enhance the workplace experience. This role will help the organization manage an effective program for the application of “smart building” and other facilities technologies.
Responsibilities:
Understand the current and ongoing external landscape and use cases for technologies associated with Internet of Things and smart buildings and seek to bring in the ‘latest and greatest’ technology solutions to our facilities. Actively tie application of these technologies to the needs of the organization, solving key business problems. Define and execute initiatives implementing these technology solutions.
Develop design guides, standards and specifications that contribute to an ongoing facility technology strategy & program for facilities at our company. Develop a design guide platform, system and review process.
Act as a central hub for the organization to track and monitor what technologies are and should be installed in buildings. Act as key point of contact for the organization in developing the technology designs into the facilities. Conduct ongoing gap analyses based on existing conditions and the future desired state. Manage a longer-term strategy and a succession of projects to apply new technology and close gaps. Work with colleagues in finance to develop business cases around the use of the technology to ensure the best value.
Work with global engineering teams to ensure that our design recommendations integrate into the facility design products.
Support our workspace strategy team on bringing new technologies that will enhance the client experience and productivity in our workspaces.
Work closely with analytics staff and IT to develop and connect to platforms needed to make the facility technologies operate, and to ensure the effective use of data. Undertake an ongoing process to test and experiment with new technologies.
Develop and manage mechanisms to communicate to the organization about the facility technology and smart building programs. Educate the organization about the technologies and their application.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Engineering, or another technical field
Required Experience and Skills:
5 years hands-on time spent at the intersection of facilities management and IT, applying smart building and similar technologies
Preferred Experience and Skills:
The candidate must possess a passion for following trends and experimenting with new technologies.
Understanding of the fundamentals of building operation and related codes and standards. Working knowledge of principles around effective energy and sustainability management. Appreciation for the latest in workspace design and how technology can enhance employee performance in the workplace.
Understanding of concepts for managing cyber security, Internet of Things, cloud-based solutions, machine to machine communications, software to enable data gathering, and automation. Must have experience with applying artificial intelligence to monitor, control, and predict equipment performance.
Technical writing skills. Experience developing standards and business cases.
Communication, presentation, leadership, influence, and stakeholder alignment & management skills. Ability to interact and partner with colleagues in IT, data analytics, facilities management, engineering, and finance.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, Monday – Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$122,800.00 – $193,300.00
