About the ILR Office of the Registrar
The ILR Office of the Registrar within Cornell Universitys School of Industrial and Labor Relations is responsible for managing student academic records, enrollment processes, course scheduling, and room assignments within the college. The office partners closely with the ILR Office of Student Services and the ILR Graduate Office to support the academic experience of undergraduate and graduate students. The office collaborates with faculty, the ILR Resident Administrative Assistant team, and other university offices such as the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of the Bursar, Financial Aid, and the Office of the University Registrar to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Registrar Support Coordinator to provide academic record, enrollment, and course/room scheduling support for both undergraduate and graduate students at the ILR School. Collaborating closely with the ILR Student Experience Team, this role ensures that enrollment processes align with Cornell Universitys broader enrollment goals, fostering a seamless academic experience for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on policies, systems, and procedures to students, faculty, and staff with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Manage student records in the information system and respond to enrollment-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with the ILR Registrar to handle student enrollment requests, course planning, and maintain updated student records and databases.
- Offer administrative support for student record maintenance and course scheduling, ensuring adherence to school and university policies.
- Oversee the room reservation process for ILR courses and events.
- Advise undergraduate ILR students on policies, procedures, and degree progress.
- Assist with the selection, training, and supervision of OSS student employees.
- Provide enrollment program planning support and contribute to school/university committees as needed.
- Work closely with other departments, such as Admissions, Bursar, and the University Registrar, to coordinate and align student services.
This is a full-time (39 hours/week) Contract College position that is based in Ithaca, NY. This position follows a 4:1 campus-to-home hybrid work arrangement during non-peak enrollment periods. During peak enrollment periods, this position is fully on-site. The hybrid work arrangement is subject to change at any time. Work hours are 8:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday. There is also an expectation to provide support for commencement activities Memorial Day weekend and in December.
What You Need
We are looking for a team member who is student-services oriented, technology proficient, and willing to learn. Additionally, you will:
- Have experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Hold an associates degree and 4 to 6 years of related experience or equivalent.
- Work as an effective team member, collaborating with a diverse group of constituents in various departments and units.
- Have excellent organizational, planning, time management, interpersonal, oral and written skills.
- Must have strong attention to detail in spelling, grammar, and proof-reading.
- Exercise a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential data and information.
- Be able to handle high volumes of work during peak periods accurately and in a professional manner, paying close attention to detail and meeting time sensitive deadlines.
- Prioritize competing deadlines and priorities during high volume periods.
- Have the aptitude to provide excellent customer service.
- Provide record of reliability and punctuality.
- Have a high level of computer literacy and demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office products.
- Be available to work Memorial Day weekend and December commencement to provide support for commencement activities.

If you possess these experiences and skills this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications we would view as incredibly helpful in this role, to include:
- Bachelors degree.
- Experience with Cornells Student Records System (PeopleSoft), including student record maintenance and course scheduling changes.
- Previous experience supervising student employees.
- Prior experience with web editing.
- Prior experience working with Salesforce, CCI (Course Class Interface) and 25Live or other classroom scheduling system.
- Prior experience in Microsoft Excel with parsing and cleaning data, complex sorting, VLOOKUP, and Nested IF.
- Familiarity with Cornell University policies and procedures.
