Position Summary:
Vallens Category Management Analyst is an individual contributor and a member of the Product Marketing team working to support Category Management decision-making by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting supplier financial data and analysis.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepares multiple reports by collecting data from various sources/databases; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends.
Analyzes past results, performs variance analysis, identifies trends, and makes recommendations for cost savings and profitability improvements.
Researches and prepares responses to Category Management and Supplier Diversity inquiries and/or may assist with annual external audit requests.
Tracks operational metrics and performs Category Management and Supplier Diversity analysis, reporting and forecasting.
Develops business partner relationships and demonstrates a working knowledge of the organizations and/or business units they support; aligns and builds partnerships across functional areas of Category Management and Supplier Diversity performance and promotes corporate communication and direction.
Partner with Sales and Purchasing leadership to develop and maintain positive supplier relationships.
Craft, deliver and ensure clear and accurate communication to field sales, operations, and other support teams regarding product strategies, initiatives, issues, etc.; ensure timely and coordinated communication and teamwork with all vested parties.
Read, understand, and follow Vallens health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations.
Actively participate in Vallens health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety, meetings, and inspections.
Identify, control, and report workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near
Report workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return-to-work programs or
Education and Experience:
Minimum 5 years of related experience in an analytical role
Previous Product Category Management experience
Previous vendor evaluation experience
Vendor program management experience
High attention to detail
Advanced ERP skills
Previous analysis experience
Ability to quickly build strong professional
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
Strong ability to produce reporting and create analytics with a summary of data
Ability to manage priorities in a demanding and continually changing environment, and to problem solve with high attention to detail
Must understand priorities and make decisions based on the short- and long-term needs of the business
Regularly changing situations requiring analysis and evaluation to determi e action and solution to business matters
Co-ordinates a major function of the decisions affecting entire function and may affect other business
