DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Nurse Aide, you will provide skilled and personal care to patients in a long-term care facility. You will collect specimens for lab work, assist with daily living activities, and ensure hygiene and basic physical needs are met for inmates. In addition, you will identify, document, and report any changes in inmate physical condition and behavior. This role requires the ability to complete routine duties independently while providing top-notch service that adheres to facility safety policies and procedures. You will also respond to emergency and intervention situations as they arise.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours/week, with rotating days off.
Work hours will be determined at the time of hire. The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
1st shift 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
2nd shift 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
3rd shift 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirements:
This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility that requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.

You must pass a background investigation.
