DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a County Social Services Aide, you will tasked with assisting professional social service staff by relieving them of paraprofessional case management functions. You will have the opportunity to assist with or conduct interviews to obtain or verify information necessary to determine eligibility or need for a wide variety of social services. Duties include planning, scheduling, conducting, or accompanying the worker on home visits, sharing observations and assessments, and meeting with advisors or treatment team members to provide information for their use in the development of treatment plans and goals. Work involves monitoring clients or their families in the maintenance of home, care of children, and the use of public transportation. Providing information and referral services, assisting with locating housing and community resources, and serving as a liaison to other community organizations under the direction of a professional worker/supervisor will be included in your duties. Work is performed under the supervision of an Agency Supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Graduation from high school; or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
