This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. No relocation will be provided for this position. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visas for this opportunity.

Occasional travel to industry meetings and/or to customer sites for short field work assignments may be required.

Your Day-to-Day:
Waste Management is an engineering group providing technical services for worldwide clients in the area of radioactive waste management (waste collection, waste handling, waste treatment & packaging, and waste discharge) – including process system design, unit process design, regulatory/licensing interface support, bid development, and overall facility design integration. We support clients in new reactor development, operating plants, and end of life decommissioning/dismantling projects.

The scope of the Waste Management group has expanded from the Generation 2 reactor to include several advanced reactor designs such as the Westinghouse AP1000 plant, AP300 small modular reactor, and the eVinciTM microreactor. Our market is global with customers in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. To meet this demand, our staff is also global with engineers in the U.S., Spain, and Germany.

The primary responsibilities for this role include:
Preparation of engineering documents (calculations, system and operational descriptions, licensing documents, and procurement specifications)
Development/management of system/facility requirements for waste management, equipment sizing calculations, support of process optimization initiatives.
Collaboration with drafting for the development of system diagrams (flow, instrumentation & control, general arrangement & layout)
Participation in preparation of proposals (technical descriptions, calculation of efforts, client requirement identification and management)
Working in international teams (position based in US, collaboration with US and European technical and business teams)

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3.0 GPA
0-2 years of work experience (full-time work experience or internships/co-ops).
Strong technical interest, predisposition for multi-tasking, flexibility, understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities.
MS Office products knowledge

Nice-to-Have:
Knowledge about fluid systems design, nuclear waste management systems, or water purification system design (ion exchange, reverse osmosis, filtration, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
Experience with general programming languages (MATLAB, PYTHON)
Proficiency in additional languages in addition to English
