JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Office of Enterprise Change and Transformation is seeking a Project Manager – Advanced Professional, to oversee the strategic and tactical management of projects related to the President’s strategic plan. The project manager will be responsible for managing the overall project process and logistics to implement the recommendations from kick-off to post-implementation support. This includes project timeline, project budget, scheduling, reporting, multiple sub-committee management, project documentation and storage, overall project team coordination and management, and other duties as assigned. The PM will work with many levels of executives and staff to lead project efforts based on industry (Project Management Institute) best practices; serve as the single point of contact for facilitation and communication of project goals, deliverables, and schedules; and communicate effectively to a broad range of stakeholders.
The PM will report to the Senior Director and will be supported by a project team consisting of administrative support, communications, and a business process analyst. In addition, an organizational change manager will work alongside the PM to help manage the change process and ensure Penn State change management best practices are implemented.
This is a limited-term appointment funded for two years from the date of hire.
The location of this position is flexible and can operate fully remote within the United States, fully in-person at our University Park Campus, or in a hybrid model of both in-person and remote. Standard working hours are in the eastern time zone.
The Office of Enterprise Change and Transformation is supportive of flexible work arrangements when aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Education and experience:
Minimally requires a Bachelors degree and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Project Management industry certification, or equivalent relevant experience/education is also required (e.g., PMI or similar).
Competencies critical to success include: organizational skills, adaptability and flexibility, team and meeting facilitation, the ability to work well with others, and the ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written).
A solid background in project management practice and methodology is essential, supported by demonstrable skills of leadership, judgment, and communication. The project manager must have a strong customer service orientation and an understanding of Penn State culture and constituent needs. This position also requires a thorough understanding of transition processes in order to facilitate successful progress from project initiation and execution to deployment and operations.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$76,700.00 – $115,100.00
