Job Summary

The Dominion Energy Virginia Training department in Chester, Virginia has an Communications Specialist Intern position available. This position understands and stays abreast of issues, both external and internal, that impact company operations. In this role, the Intern will partner with a Communications Specialist to develop and prepare communication strategies, presentations, bulletins, alert and articles for internal distribution, and other materials about company policy, strategy, events and projects. Additionally, the Intern will assist in supporting various communications projects that support the Training, Safety and Environmental groups and will perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

Strong, verbal communication skills.

Strong writing and editing skills.

Personal computer skills.

Photography, newsletter design and desktop publishing skills a plus.

Ability to process and respond to information quickly.

Ability to develop and manage contacts network, for news gathering and dissemination.

Education Requirements

Education Requirements

Candidates must be pursuing a bachelors degree in communications, English, Audio/Visual, Graphic Design

Candidates must have an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027

Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA or greater

Office Work Environment 76 -100%

Travel Up to 25%
