Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Syncot Plastics is looking for a fleet mechanic to help out with the 30 forklifts. The Maintenance Technician’s role is to keep machinery and equipment operational by both preventative and corrective maintenance. The Technician works in a manufacturing environment and provides maintenance for forklifts, conveyor belts, shredders and grinders, plastics extrusion machinery, and all associated equipment supporting plastics manufacturing.

Hard Skills

5 years minimum industrial maintenance experience

Basic hand tools including Multi-meter and Amp meter

Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics

Ability to troubleshoot, assess and repair

Ability to build control panels from laying it out to final installation (including all control wiring and hooking up to main power)

Forklift experience

Ability to perform mechanical jobs such as changing bearings, belts, pulleys, oil in machinery and any other small task jobs needed

Experience in hydraulics, air compressors, PLCs, and welding is a plus but not required

Accurately fills out all paperwork (PM reports, parts requisitions, etc.)

Soft Skills

Ability to work with minor supervision

Maintains good relationships between supervisors and team members to assure cooperation

Informs team leaders on any unsafe or unproductive work practices and, if necessary, moves up the chain of command for corrective action

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Belmont, North Carolina.

Work Environment

Non-climate controlled but fairly comfortable. The facility is largely open air so the machines dont get hot. It isnt messy, but the raw material is piled up in designated areas for compacting/mixing.
