Warehouse Operations Vacation Relief Worker

POSITION SUMMARY To serve our internal and external customers by being trained to perform the job duties of all non-exempt positions within the warehouse team and also to provide coverage for these positions during absences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Accurately builds pallets of product by identifying proper location and quantity of product requested on build sheets; ensures that each pallet is staged and loaded correctly and safely; wraps pallets securely either by hand or machine; utilizes forklift to load pallets onto trailers or in truck bays according to established standards. Delivers all products and materials to Pepsi locations according to established standards. Verifies incoming and outgoing deliveries according to established standards (e.g. bill of lading present, trailer secured). Unloads incoming goods (e.g. shells, full goods) from delivery trucks and trailers according to established standards (e.g. goods being unloaded and stored safely). Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA and safety requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local Laws); wears all required personal protective equipment. Counts and transports damaged and out of date product to designated storage areas according to established standards (e.g. accurate counts made and documented, goods being moved and stored safely). Assists in the replenishment of products on staging racks. Maintains cleanliness and assists in the organization of the warehouse (e.g. cuts away shrink wrap from pallets, gathers damaged materials, cleans up spills, picks up and empties trash, cleans floor). Communicates with co-workers, supervisor and management team verbally regarding the status of work activities; supervisor regarding questions or issues with daily assignment; works with Load Auditors and Warehouse Management Team to resolve problems, errors and mis-picks. Completes equipment safety checklists, load sheets, time off requests, and other required paperwork according to established standards. Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required. EDUCATION LEVEL High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) EXPERIENCE 6-12 months forklift experience in a warehouse environment; previous food/beverage warehouse experience strongly preferred. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of: warehouse/food distribution environment; beverage industry. Skill in: internal customer service. Ability to: count accurately; read (e.g. load sheets) and write; work quickly, efficiently, and independently; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; obtain a forklift license; operate a forklift, pallet jack, crusher and other mechanical equipment; perform basic math functions (e.g. addition, subtraction).
