Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
Perform testing on Ford engine parts. Receive part from operators, communicate effectively with the customer, take part to band saw, cut part, run contamination test, chemical test, hardness testing, acid etch, and microscopic testing. Enter data into computer. One part takes roughly 3 hours to process. Report data to Ford and address any quality issues in the metal. Undergo a 2-3 week training period before moving to shift. Prepare parts for metallurgical testing, surface etching, and conduct measurements and metallurgical determinations. Perform cleanliness testing, measure and record coolant and washer parameters, and participate in chemical additions. Perform bio-stick dip tests, assist in maintenance of equipment, communicate changes in coolant parameters, and prepare detailed shift reports. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and assist in maintaining tools. Support site staff with general organization initiatives. Interact with customer’s production and technical personnel. May be required to operate hand tools and work flexible hours. Carry out other duties related to quality control, metallurgical heat treatment, and the steel industry. Ensure safety in potentially hazardous situations while adhering to Life Saving Rules.

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in NA, Ohio.
Work Environment
1st shift. Will work a 4 / 10 schedule, including one weekend day, with 3 days off per week. Days off will be determined after hiring and staffing, with consideration for employee preferences. Overtime available.
