Schwab Retirement Plan Services (SRPS) is one of the leading providers of bundled retirement plan services for mid to large sized companies. Schwab offers full-service retirement plans featuring complete retirement services from a single source. Schwab’s combined expertise in recordkeeping and related services, investment choice and award-winning participant experience and education (including retirement plan advice) and high-end technology helps employers offer competitive employee benefits. We work to unburden our clients in automating procedures and processes to help reduce the clients time needed to supervise daily administration of their plan.

We are adding two Managers to support our growing business. These are individual contributor roles. A Payroll Consulting Manager and a Payroll Program Manager . The Payroll Consulting Manager is the main point of contact with the client and the Payroll Program Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate setup and processing. Both are expected to be a subject matter experts in the flow and impact of data within the recordkeeping system, retirement plan design, and providing in-depth consultative services to SRPS plan sponsors. We need to ensure we receive accurate data from each plan and/or their 3rd party payroll vendor. This data is typically passed via a recurring payroll feed each pay cycle and contains both financial and demographic information. Getting the ongoing inbound and outbound data feeds established is critical to the success of the plans administration, as the data housed within these feeds impact everything from account setup to contributions into the plan, clear through to retirement and the participants ability to disburse funds from the plan. In partnership, the Payroll Consulting Manager and the Payroll Program Manager facilitate payroll integration set-ups and modifications for new and existing plan sponsors. In these roles, you will have a unique opportunity of working not only with our plan sponsors, but also with a variety of 3rd party payroll vendors to craft, build, test and implement ongoing payroll feeds.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Communicating directly with plan sponsors and 3rd party payroll vendors, figuring out the appropriate channel (email and/or telephone) for the specific need

Proactive project management and consulting of payroll changes, including onboarding new business and supporting Payroll Vendor and file format changes for existing Schwab clients.

Defining and adhering to agreed-upon timelines for projects by hosting recurring touchpoints with clients and vendors to ensure projects remain on track.

Collaborating with both internal and external partners on payroll data needs that optimize Schwab’s ability to service/administer retirement plans, drive administration efficiency, mitigate financial risk due to data related issues, and improve client experience.

Establishing automated file transmissions (incoming and outgoing) between plan sponsor’s payroll provider and Schwab’s 401(k)recordkeeping system

Analysis of audited inbound and outbound test files and collaborating with internal and external partners to resolve issues.

Accurately maintaining file specifications, and details related to payroll integration set-ups and changes.

Preparing impacted recordkeeping systems for both inbound and outbound files

Researching complex issues to resolution

Maintaining quality control and procedures and build process improvements to meet key results and exceed client expectations.

Ensuring daily work is completed in a timely manner by monitoring workflow and raising needs to leadership.
