The position of Student Development Coordinator, Upward Bound Math/Science (UBMS) is a grant-funded position responsible for providing one-on-one pre-college academic advising and counseling to UBMS participants. This position will facilitate workshops, coordinate outreach activities, plan and implement college visit, coordinate cultural activities and assist students in standardized test preparation, study skill development and post-secondary enrollment.

Responsibilities Include:
Conducting one-on-one pre-college academic advising for UBMS participantsPlanning and delivering academic workshops, seminars, parent meetings, cultural outings, and career exploration activitiesIdentifying and connecting participants to community resources, scholarships, and mentoring opportunities for Canton Area high school studentsChaperoning overnight trips for college tours, student leadership conferences, and academic field trips
To be considered youll need:
A minimum of a bachelors degree in Education, Counseling, Student Development, Social Work or STEM discipline.A minimum of six months of experience related to teaching, pre-college advising/recruitment, curriculum development or student mentoring.A valid Ohio Drivers license with an insurable driving record.The ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight travel as neededBCI/FBI background check clearance for working around minor childrenKnowledge of outreach, mentoring, and post-secondary enrollment best practices for first-generation, college-bound students, and at-risk populations
