Logistics Strategic Planner

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Logistics Strategic Planner in the Army’s Product Manager XM30, Program Executive Office (PEO) Ground Combat Systems (GCS) office. This position is currently hybrid, typically with 1-2 days weekly in the office at the Detroit Arsenal. This arrangement could change based on the requirements of the government client. Other duties may be assigned to support client and contract deliverables.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Integrated Master Schedulers to ensure the Master Schedule is executed in accordance with established timelines.
Ensure Master schedules and project reporting is developed, reviewed, and adjudicated in a timely manner.
Support integrated product teams (IPTs) responsible for delivering logistics products.
Coordinate, schedule, and plan logistics documentation efforts, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Manage staffing and submission processes for logistics documents, ensuring alignment with program and project timelines.
Facilitate Cross-Functional Team Coordination.
Serve as the primary logistics lead in cross-functional and integrated product teams to ensure alignment with program and project objectives.
Regularly interact with other functional teams (engineering, finance, acquisition, etc.) to capture and integrate all logistics requirements.
Act as the primary logistics point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Identify potential risks related to logistics documentation and planning and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor the progress of logistics deliverables.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership om the status of logistics documents, and schedules.
Other deliverables based on contract requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of logistics experience in defense, automotive industry, or a related field, with a focus on acquisition programs, sustainment, maintenance, or logistics planning.
Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Detailed-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Clearance: Not required for initial hire. Amentum will sponsor a SECRET security clearance, a positive adjudication/determination may be required for continued employment. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Government Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience with military, industry or government related duties.
Master’s Degree and 3 years of experience with military, industry or government related duties.
Familiarity with the defense acquisition process, Integrated Master Schedules, and integrated product teams (IPTs).
Familiarity with the US DoD ground vehicle requirements.
Program Management (PM) awareness or experience.
Knowledge of the PEO/PM structure and organizations.
Knowledge of the Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) structure and organization, with emphasis on the Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC).
Previous DOD experience in acquisitions or acquisitions strategy.
Previous experience working in TACOM, PEO CS&CSS, GVSC or PEO Ground Combat Systems (GCS).
