General Maintenance/Grounds

In accordance with Article VIII, Section I of the Monroe City Educational Support Personnel Association – Custodial/Maintenance, the following vacancy is being posted.

CLASSIFICATION II — General Maintenance/Grounds

QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualifications are required to be considered for this position unless otherwise stated.

1. Must possess a High School diploma or certified GED, be able to read/write English and have a good knowledge of mathematics.   The candidate may be required to submit to several areas of testing.
2. Additional coursework or seminars in areas related to building maintenance is preferred.
3. Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, window replacement, boiler and heating equipment, swimming pool care and operation, etc.
4. Must be able to drive and care for all types of tractors and trucks and have a basic knowledge of preventative maintenance.
5. Be able to use any and all power equipment (electrical and gas powered).
6. Must be capable of keeping and maintaining records of materials, parts and supplies and keep an inventory of the same.
7. Must meet all other job qualifications as adopted and published by Monroe Public Schools.    

Rate of Pay: $19.22/hour as [per contract](https://www.monroe.k12.mi.us/files/page/1640/2224MCContractNewWage.pdf){cke-saved-href=”https://www.monroe.k12.mi.us/files/page/1640/2224MCContractNewWage.pdf”}. An additional .75 cents per hour will be paid for classification 2 personnel who are required to secure, maintain, and update special licenses or certifications to perform their work.
