Summary
The Sr. Case Ready Manager provides leadership and direction in the production and maintenance operations of the Case Ready & Trim Blend department to ensure timely and cost-efficient production and distribution of Company products. This position is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the Production Supervisor staff to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe manner, and for promoting and maintaining positive working relationships with the production group. This position has the authority to make day-to-day decisions based upon re-established policy and procedures.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure products are run in the proper order, productions are completed on time, raw materials are rotated properly, all detection equipment is operating as it should, all packaging materials are tracked and ordered when needed. Packaging materials include trays, film, labels, boxes, etc.
Manage spec. creation with the brands / customers, communicating the packaging needed, label requirements, and tare weights to effectively process each item within the capabilities of the department. Includes running samples of any new products to ensure production has the capacity & ability to run what is being requested.
Manage operational plans to ensure yield, raw material / finished product lean points for grind, throughput, maximum line efficiency, and quality requirements are met.
Manage processes to continuously reduce turnover, improve safety results as measured by the Safety Scorecard, and create the environment that will make the facility the Employer of Choice in the area.
Manage processes to continually provide training to improve the skill set of the hourly production associates, as well as salaried Supervisors, to maximize the results of individual and team efforts.
Consistently develops new ideas and methods to improve operational performance, associate safety while also improving product quality and customer reliability.
Supports and promotes the company’s annual People, Products, and Profitability goals through effective planning, communication, emphasizing the requirement for all team members to be efficient and effective in their respective responsibilities.
Minimum Education
Associate’s degree in business administration/Management, Agriculture or related discipline.
Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience Requirements
10 years related work experience required.
Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Requires prior supervisory experience and proven track record demonstrating ability to lead people and get results.
Must be able to think ahead and plan over a 1-to-3 year time span.
Must be able to organize multiple protocols/projects and complete on schedule.
Able to develop protocols and processes and deploy.
Able to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
Knowledge of and ability to provide strong customer orientation.
Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization; possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Must be able to travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and/or company business.
Ability to cope with pressure and changing priorities with a focus on delivering results.
Proactively initiates changes to improve work processes.
Experience in protein, consumer products or food-related industries is a plus.
Bilingual preferred but not a requirement.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in pork, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
