The Sr. Financial Analyst will have a pivotal role on the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team for Batteries Plus. This associate will be responsible for preparation and review of financial plans, forecasts and results. The Sr. Financial Analyst provides assistance to the Sr Director of Finance, the CFO, and Department Leaders with respect to budgets, forecasts, monthly financial reports of operations, volume and variance analysis, labor analytics and other financial information as needed. In order to complete tasks and meet deadlines, the analyst must work independently, with financial systems and build effective working relationships with operational finance teams and other business partners.

Responsibilities:

Forecast and Planning

Supports the financial P&L forecast consolidation and reporting to senior management and financial reporting for the Board of Directors and Private Equity holders.

Establishes and maintains key relationships with operational personnel throughout business.

Updates financial forecast models on a quarterly/monthly basis.

Coordinates annual planning & forecasting calendar and the overall process to deliver the financial forecasts, Annual Operating Plan and strategic plans, per business needs.

Summarizes and prepares budget information for presentation to Senior Executives and Board of Directors.

Supports Sr Director in managing and updating the 5 Year financial model, including balance sheet components.

Month End Reporting and Analysis

Identifies organization activities and transactions that will require accounting entries, and works with Accounting to ensure these are properly posted, Reviews financial results during close, and analyzes all significant variances and understands reason(s) for variances, and takes appropriate action (e.g., journal entries to correct inappropriate variances or follow up with department manager on unfavorable variances).

Responsible for ensuring financial reporting and analysis software (if in place) is maintained properly and that data within it is accurate and complete. Manages use of financial reporting tools, and provides training sessions and provides support to department managers as needed.

Assists the Director of Finance in reporting of operating results and explanation of key variances for Executive Management.

Track strategic business initiatives and analyze variances to initiative forecasts.

Comprehension and analysis of cost allocations to all lines of business. Develop ad hoc reports and analysis.

Financial Analysis and Other Areas

Assist with the development of ROI analysis to support presentation of key drivers of the business model, company projects, and business initiatives for Board approval

Understand franchise business model and assist in ad-hoc financial modeling to support franchise profitability and evaluate various business proposals.

Qualifications:

4-year degree in Finance or related field, MBA or Graduate Finance or Accounting

4 years of experience depending on industry

Advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office

Experience in Financial modeling, analysis and corporate reporting

Prior budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of financial statements

Outstanding ability to communicate, motivate and partner with business operation leaders

Ability to think strategically and execute in the details

Demonstrated solid teamwork and collaboration skills and ability to work in fast paced environment

Experience with multiple financial systems

Dashboard building experience
