OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Quality Lead to perform inspections of fabricated sheet metal parts, purchased components and mechanical assemblies to determine conformance to customer drawings and specifications. Complies and maintains Quality records, files, and other documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspects fabricated sheet metal parts, purchased components and mechanical assemblies to determine conformance to customer drawings and specifications
Completes and document First Article Inspections required by customers
Reject products not meeting specifications and hold further processing or shipment until non-conformances are resolved
Documents non-conforming parts
Reviews defective product upon completion of re-work to determine conformance
Approve products for manufacturing and shipment
Interpret tolerances, drawings specifications, quality standards and procedures, or other part acceptance criteria for production personnel
Compile and maintain Quality records
Assist in preparation of quality plans, procedures, and reports
Enters Quality reject data into computer files; performs other general administrative operations as directed
Lead and/or assist in system/product investigations and corrective actions
Assist in coordinating the calibration procedures and recall of measuring equipment
Assist in monitoring and evaluation of the elements of the quality system for purposes of continuous improvement
Communicate directly with suppliers, customers, and internal departments on Quality matters
Conduct Quality Audits of manufacturing processes and parts
Assist in training of quality inspectors & technicians
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2 years’ in a high-volume manufacturing setting
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling
Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and the understanding of processes used in production, preferably sheet metal, stamping and assembly environments
Must have the ability to determine quality checks required at proper sequences of forming and assembly, read and understand blueprints, and use precision measuring tools
Must be able to lead teams and have a high sense of accountability and reliability
Must have a blueprint reading certification
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred

M-F, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
