Sr. Technologist – Dairy Foods R&DRefrigerated Sweet Snacks Senior Technologist:The Refrigerated Sweet Snacks Senior Technologist will support a team of food scientists conducting research for product development, formula optimization, and foundational learning projects for the Kozy Shack and Goya businesses. The setting may change day-to-day and includes pilot plant, lab, office, and manufacturing plant.Key Responsibilities:Executing and supporting benchtop, pilot plant, and production plant experiments, finished product performance testing, dairy product taste evaluations, and technical service supportDeveloping proficiency on-the-job in benchtop and pilot plant make relating to refrigerated dessertsWeighing ingredients; and using and modifying detailed formulations and proceduresPreparing and evaluating samples, submitting analytical testing, and conducting sensory evaluationsCommunicating data and documenting results and observations in ELN (electronic lab notebook)Updating and writing SOPs (standard operating procedures)Leading shelf-life studies and supporting turnoversInterpreting and updating specificationsLeading small independent projects with guidanceRequired Competencies and Skills:Accurate and efficient attention to detailGood communication and organization skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionGood understanding in experimental and scientific approach with solid data analysis capabilityGood computer skills and proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and ability to learn new computer systems/applications quicklyKnowledge of laboratory and safety procedures/PPE (personal protective equipment)Knowledge of safe food handling and GMPs (good manufacturing practices)Desire to develop technical depth in dairyAbility to lift and carry 40 pounds of food materialsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to travel up to 20%Experience & Education:High School Diploma or higherHas 2 years of technical experience with established and demonstrated skillset applicable to competencies and requirements for the roleAbout Land OLakes, Inc.Join us and be part of a Fortune 250, farmer- and member-owned cooperative that is reimagining the business of food.
