The Manager Data Analytics for Medicare & Retirement is responsible for the reporting and BI solution build, as well as being the point of contact and lead for ad hoc requests and BI dashboard solutions to Member Marketing and Product programs. This role will also work with business partners across the enterprise and key support teams with a variety of functions including, BI analysis, creating BI solutions, and ad hoc requests working with technical partners onshore and offshore, providing recommendations and identify gaps tied to the overall program.

Primary Responsibilities:

Business and Data Analysis

Works with internal and external partners to develop and analyze business intelligence needs

Develops and writes business requirements for the design of solutions.

May perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms.

Research business problems and creates models that help analyze these business problems

Learns and maintains expertise on various data domains.

Manages data quality of various data domains, including correcting data discrepancies, when appropriate.

Understands the security profile of various data domains; collaborate with BDPass and UCEE data teams to ensure proper security and provisioning of data.

Conduct data profiling activities that inform and support data replication activities.

Business Partnership

Utilizes expert business knowledge in assigned business domain to advise business on recommended approach for harnessing the power of their data.

Facilitates data-related conversations with data ambassadors and other business data SMEs.

Trains and assists data users on how to use data-related applications.

Designs and delivers end-user training and training materials.

Trains varying levels of users on effective use of BI solutions, customizes learning experience based on user skills and desired experience

Conducts small group trainings

Consults on needs for advanced, statistical, and predictive analytics for various business domains.

Provides guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to other team members

Coaches less-experienced individuals

Solution Development

Uses creativity to design and develop eye-catching data visualizations that tell a compelling story to the business; visualizations should be quickly actionable and enable the end users to make data-driven decisions.

Participates in the refining and maturing the enterprise data strategy.

Interprets business requirements and determines optimum BI solutions to meet needs

Designs enterprise BI content, including custom reports

Management Production Support

Work with offshore teams with solution development and technical issues that arises.

Respond to an agreed contact communication (e.g. telephone call, text, email, system alert) within an agreed time.

Operate within BI’s SLA policies and protocols when on-call or called to BI work.

Required Qualifications:

5 years of progressive management experience in the field of Business Intelligence, Analytics, and/or Information Technology

5 years of reporting experience

3 years project management experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, Snowflake and Tableau and SQL

Working knowledge of one or more business functional areas

Business requirement gathering experience

Demonstrated strong collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills

Experience effectively bridging communication between IT and the business

Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills, self-directed

Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated solid passion for data and its ability to optimize organizations.

Appreciate the value of high-quality data

Experience using Adobe and Power BI

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
