The Role

What’s the job?

The Traffic Flow Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient traffic flow throughout the Shakopee Roofing Plant by coordinating the inbound and outbound logistics traffic.

The position is responsible for operating both inbound and outbound scales as well as preparing shipping documents according to CertainTeed’s Logistics Standard Operating Procedures using the SAP System Platform.-

The Traffic Flow Coordinator also has a critical role in our Emergency Action Plans including Fire, Medical and Weather preparedness, as well as response.-

Essential Job Duties:

Monitoring Staging Lot, East and West Gates as well as cameras to ensure Stage is not overfilled with Trucks.

Work directly with Warehouse personnel to assure confirmation of shipping documents.

Verify Load#, Appointment Time & Destination upon Arrival

Correctly hand out Bill of Lading and any other necessary documentation for outbound shipments as well as retain a copy for our records.

Must ensure that all Bill of Ladings are signed by driver and TFC as well as outbound weight documented. All CPU loads MUST have a copy of the drivers license with the BOL for Certainteed records.

Audit outbound weight against order weight checking for any errors, ensure material is secured properly according to Certainteed standards. (strapped/tarped and damage free)

Update SAP once shipment is complete. (PGI Loads) Shipment must be confirmed gone.

Ensure all Canadian Bills of Lading have the proper PARS documents on them, In the proper location in SAP and then faxed to the proper Border Crossings

Scale all Recycle & Waste Trucks as required as well as obtain proper paperwork for driver and our records.

Log in Excel all Inbound Deliveries to include PO# or Order# as well as Truck Plate # and Carrier Name.

Direct all Deliveries and notify correct department for unloading process to begin.

Check In/Out any Company Vehicle and maintain accurate log.

Direct inbound/outbound LTL trucks to accurate dock and communicate with Shipping Department

Answer the phone in a professional and timely manner as well as transferring calls and using Radio to communicate with drivers.

Communicate Professionally with all Departments as needed.

Ensure Office is secure after normal business hours.

Sign in visitors, contractors and vendors; communicate Safety Procedures in the yard; enforce these rules as necessary.

Emergency procedures for 911

You will be required to perform other duties as requested or assigned which may include:

-Processing Customer Shipments using the outbound process flow in SAP

-Key in Truck Arrivals when needed (adhering to FIFO process)

What do you bring?

Minimum high school diploma.

Good working knowledge of warehouse/shipping policies, procedures, operations and general transportation processes.

Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.

Able to support disaster recovery plans to ensure customers receive uninterrupted service during times of crisis.

Attention to detail and proficiency with internal computer systems including SAP and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is preferred.

Good oral & written communication skills. Ability to read, write, comprehend and verbally communicate simple instructions, emails, short correspondence and memos.

Able to multi-task in a very fast paced environment in order to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs and positive demeanor.

Excellent attendance track record is required.
