Full time based on 184 school calendar days
Hourly Salary Range- $36.70 to $56.25 based on experience, 5 paid holidays, PERS- cooperative pays employer share, Sick, Personal, Funeral and Professional Leave plus Paid Individual Medical, Vision and Dental (option for single plus dependent or family policies available at additional cost)
[The James River Special Education Cooperative is looking for highly motivated speech pathologists for the upcoming school year. James River Special Education Cooperative services the following districts: Edgeley, Ellendale, Kulm, Jamestown, LaMoure, Litchville-Marion, Medina and Montpelier.

– A Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
– Current North Dakota physical therapist license: experience in pediatric or school-based physical therapy is preferred.
– Strong knowledge of special education laws and IEP processes; Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
– Travel between schools within the Cooperative may be required; Physical demands include moving equipment, lifting students, and providing physical support during therapy sessions.
RESPONSIBILITES
1. Assessment and Evaluation:
– Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to assess students motor skills, mobility, posture, strength, and other related abilities.
– Review medical and educational records to develop individualized treatment plans (IEPs).
– Re-evaluate students as necessary to adjust therapy plans according to progress and changing needs.
2. Intervention and Treatment:
– Provide direct physical therapy services to students, including interventions to improve motor function, balance, coordination, and strength.
– Develop strategies for students to improve mobility and independence within the school environment.
– Collaborate with school personnel to integrate therapy interventions into the classroom and other school settings.
3. IEP Development and Participation:
– Serve as a member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team for students receiving physical therapy services.
– Write clear and measurable goals for students and monitor progress toward these goals.
– Document and report student progress to parents, teachers, and IEP team members.
4. Consultation and Collaboration:
– Work closely with teachers, aides, administrators, and other related service providers to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
– Provide training and consultation to school staff and parents on strategies to support physical development and safety in the school environment.
– Assist in adapting classroom equipment and activities to meet the physical needs of students.
5. Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress.
