Community Table overview:

The Custer County Community Table (CCCT), dba the Miles City Soup Kitchen (MCSK) was founded in 2009 and opened its doors in 2010. The mission of the MCSK is to provide a meal to all who come in need; the poor, the hungry, the lonely. The kitchen operates with a 501(c)(3) designation, employing one part time kitchen cook and is governed by an elected board of volunteer directors. The daily operations are run through the dedication of the cooks ability to execute daily menus, coordinate volunteers and act as the face for the kitchen.

Position Overview:

The kitchen cook oversees and is responsible for the day to day operations of the kitchen and dining room as well as volunteers and patrons while in the facility. The cook prepares a healthy and balanced meal daily and maintains cleanliness of the facility. They are responsible for adhering to and enforcing food safe policies, proper sanitation and storage, menu creation and various administrative duties. The cook is expected to maintain professional and ongoing communication with the board of directors concerning daily operations and the needs of the patrons we serve.

The kitchen operates Monday through Friday, with lunch service between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. daily, unless a holiday meal or special service is approved and otherwise indicated.

The kitchen cook shift begins at 8:00 a.m. and commences at 2:00 p.m. daily. The kitchen cook is a part time hourly position paying $20 per hour. It is expected that this position will be 30 hours per week, and no more unless authorized by the executive committee. This position does not offer health insurance or retirement benefits.
