Northrop Grumman is looking for a top-notch, focused, and dedicated Software Engineer /Principal Software Engineer to join our team of engineers at the Specialized Tactical Electronic Warfare Systems (STEWS) program. The program supports and maintains laboratory test stations, transportable flight line electronic combat system test sets, and airborne RF and IR systems.
What you will do:
Participate in the full life cycle of software development, to include requirements development, application development, testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and upgrades for the STEWS supported systems. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products.
This position may be filled as a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications for Software Engineer:
High School Diploma/GED and 6 years software engineering experience
Will also consider 2 years software engineering experience with related BS degree/ 1 years software engineering experience with related MS degree
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to collaborate on a team with other engineering disciplines
Derive SW requirements from initial customer requirements
Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
Develop and execute test procedures for software components
Experience programming in a high-level programming language such as C and C Experience with user interface design and analysis in a Windows environment
Documenting software design using Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Software testing/debugging in a laboratory environment
Experience with hardware/software integration and test techniques
Self-motivated to learn new technologies as needed
Familiarity with version control software (SVN/Git)
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance

High School Diploma and 9 years related software engineering experience;
Will also consider 7 years related software engineer experience with Associates Degree; 5 years software engineering experience with related BS Degree; 3 years software engineering experience with related MS Degree;

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the design, development and test, or sustainment of airborne electronic systems
Familiarity with agile SW Development methods
Current/Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Experience with VxWorks and Linux operating systems
Experience in programming in National Instruments Labwindows/CVI and/or Labview
Familiarity with RF test equipment (wideband RF/microwave signal generation and analysis).
Experience with hardware and software integration and troubleshooting in a laboratory environment.
Familiarity with scripting languages i.e. Python or VB Script
Familiarity with integration of avionics interfaces (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, etc.)
Working knowledge in RFEW
Familiarity with cybersecurity

Salary Range: $83,300 – $124,900
Salary Range 2: $102,400 – $153,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
