Job Description
The Marketing Manager position will have responsibility for leading Congress and Sponsorship strategy and planning across the Franchise in collaboration with functional partners – including overseeing the annual planning process. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with U.S. Gastroenterology Medical and Commercial brand teams, Internal and External Agencies, Market Analytics and Business Intelligence (MABI), Legal, Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), Field Sales, and Business Services teams in order to plan and execute various marketing-sponsored meetings.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead the integrated strategy and annual planning process for Congresses and Sponsorships related to Gastroenterology brands and indications
Participate in the annual budgeting process to ensure appropriate funding in order to deliver on brand objectives, including management of this budget
Manage the cross-franchise Congress and Sponsorship master calendar to ensure timelines, logistics and attendance objectives are met for national and marketing-sponsored meetings
Oversee cross-functional teams in order to execute upon Congress and Sponsorship objectives (e.g., American College of Gastroenterologists, Advances in inflammatory Bowel Diseases, Digestive Disease Week, and other major Congresses that may be prioritized)
Analyze and manage Sponsorship opportunities for maximum return on investment
Collaborate with brand teams on maximizing presence and delivering on Field Sales representative-delivered materials for regional / local conferences and advocacy meetings
Manage and oversee the tactical execution and accountability of key tactics, including review, approval and delivery of derivative materials (e.g., booths, panels, materials, and messages)
Oversee approval of Statements of Work / Purchase Orders, including coordination with relevant vendors and other logistics, as required
Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures related to planning and executing Congresses and Sponsorships, in collaboration with OEC
Track relevant metrics, and develop reporting / present outputs
Continually contribute to process and capability innovation through assessments and recommendations
Stay current on all processes and procedures related to Congresses and Sponsorships
Continually seek out best practices from other Abbvie franchises
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree required
5 years relevant marketing experience
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills; ability to influence without authority
Solid business acumen, including budget management and project management
Preferred:
Knowledge of AbbVie policies, procedures, culture, and other brand team operations
Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred (Client or Agency)
Congress and Sponsorship management experience desired (Client or Agency)
Continuous Improvement and/or Change Management skills

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Salary: $103,500 – $197,000
