Job Description
Purpose: The primary function of this position is to conduct preclinical in vivo positron emission tomography (PET) imaging studies.
Responsibilities:
Provide experimental support for preclinical imaging studies in rodents and large animals, including formulation and administration of radiotracer/contrast agent/compound, image data acquisition, and blood collection
Operate state of the art imaging systems, including a Mediso LFER 150 PET/CT, a Siemens Inveon PET/CT, and two Bruker MRI systems
Function as the study coordinator of several preclinical imaging studies
Develop and ensure high quality study protocols
Support preclinical PET imaging studies by analyzing blood or tissue samples
Perform analysis of imaging data using specialized software
Ensure maintenance of imaging equipment, in close collaboration with vendor support team
Conduct and interpret literature searches to aid in the understanding and improvement of imaging studies
Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment through diligent handling and use-tracking of radioactive materials
Communicate key results to team members and project stakeholders and contribute to study reports
Qualifications
BS in pharmacology, biochemistry, cell/molecular biology, or a related field with typically 5 years of experience, or master’s degree or equivalent education with typically 2 years of experience
Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
The preferred candidate will have diverse experience in animal handling and a well-developed interest in working with advanced imaging techniques
Demonstrated skills in molecular imaging or in vivo pharmacology
Experience working with radioactivity preferred; willingness and ability to work with radioactivity required

This is an on-site opportunity base in AbbVies Chicago offices.
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Salary: $71,000 – $134,500
