Position Overview
The Environmental & Compliance Coordinator supports the National Director of Safety & Compliance in executing any and all tasks related to quality, environment, health & safety (QEH&S) operations and administration. The Environmental & Compliance Coordinator enhances the National Director of Safety & Compliance’s effectiveness by performing administrative work, providing information / data management and representing the National Director of Safety & Compliance to others. Reports to the National Director of Safety & Compliance and has no direct reports.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
Executes development of a team-oriented company safety culture that emphasizes QEH&S continuous improvement, high performance, and goal attainment
Aids the development of team members via corporate QEH&S training programs
Builds and maintains a network of support and relationships both internally and externally
Organizes and works with environmental contractors, annual updates of environmental plans, and oversees the execution of environmental regulatory reporting
Assists in the monitoring and enforcement of policies and procedures that have been set forth through the corporate compliance and other environmental related programs
Maintains environmental and compliance recordkeeping
Revises the compliance program in response to the changing needs of the organization, laws, and governmental policies
Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the compliance plan and the related activities to ensure they promote an institutional culture favorable to QEH&S compliance
Facilitates company-wide communication, committee, and overall team member participation
Provides strategic initiative support (such as the ISO 14001/RIOS QEH&S System)
Maintains the SharePoint filing system as well as key contact database
Oversees the day-to-day efficient operation of the Compliance office
Writes, formats, and edits letters and other documents from draft to client-ready stage
Supports managers and supervisors with team member relations and/or safety related disciplinary issues
Able to fulfill flexible scheduling requirements as determined by the manager and/or business needs of the operation; must be able to attend charity/networking/customer events after normal business hours
Minimum travel required one week per month

Desired Characteristics
Bachelors degree required
2-5 years related experience; similar industry or environmental background preferred
Knowledge and understanding of run-off and stormwater testing, recycling, swarf, and different types of metals
Familiarity with EPA filings and regulations
Possesses a positive attitude and self confidence
Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
Easily able to handle and manage change
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Candidate must pass a pre-employment physical, background and credit check
Works independently & proactively, as well as working within a team, as needed
Able to fulfill flexible scheduling requirements as determined by the manager and/or business needs
Minimum Safety Training Requirements
Basic on-the-job training that satisfies the Primary Objectives of the specific position

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
