The Maintenance Associate will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the Hartford Lubricants Plant.

The Phillips 66 Hartford Lubricants Plant is located in Hartford, IL. The Plant receives base oil feed stock and additives via barge, railcars, and trucks. These feedstocks are offloaded into storage tanks. From the storage tanks, the base oil and additives are sent through computerized batch blenders and inline blenders to produce a finished product. The finished product is then sent to our package lines where automatic filling systems and conveyors place it into bottles, drums, and other containers. The finished product is then shipped out via trucks and rail to customers. We provide a safe and environmentally responsible workplace and have a positive impact on the local community. Operations are run 24 hours per day, with Terminal Operators assigned to the day, evening, or night shift Monday through Friday with occasional work on weekends.

Responsibilities May Include:

Maintaining and repairing all plant process equipment, including preventative and predictive maintenance, calibration, equipment upgrades and reliability.

Hardware and software maintenance and repair for all plant control systems

Working on energized electrical systems and electrical LOTO following industry requirements and company policy.

Repairing or replacing control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.

Performing work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.

Troubleshooting all plant electrical and mechanical systems and repair in a safe and timely manner.

Fabricating parts and components for new and existing equipment.

Addressing daily work orders timely and cost effectively with the use of a work order system.

Being on call to plant operations around the clock to respond to emergency needs.

Effectively tracking and communicating maintenance tasks and project status.

Maintaining spare parts inventory controls to facilitate repairs and to minimize process equipment down time while optimizing working capital.

Tracking process equipment downtime and cost of repair.

Overseeing third-party contract workers to assure work is completed in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner, and in accordance with all Company requirements.

Assuring compliance with all Company policies and Heath Safety Environmental Quality (HSEQ) procedures and training requirements and active member of HSEQ teams.

Conducting all activities safely by following Company policies, procedures and LOTO requirements.

Being accountable for the development and accuracy of maintenance procedures and records.

Having the ability to maintain and repair pumps and replace mechanical seals.

Troubleshooting and repairing pneumatics and hydraulics systems.

Maintaining and repairing conveyor systems.

Maintaining all work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.

Functioning as a team player with management, operators, and other maintenance personnel.

Interfacing with manufacturing and logistics supervisors and other key personnel to coordinate equipment needs.

Required Qualifications:

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.

Valid Drivers license

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Associate degree in Electrical, Industrial Maintenance or equivalent work experience

Willing and able to work second shift: 3PM – 11:30PM opening

Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:

Work safely, follow procedures, and always wear proper PPE.

Operator forklifts, elevated-work platforms, and scissor lifts

Troubleshoot PLC automated equipment, sensors, control loops and logic.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment including but not limited to material handling equipment, conveyors, servos, pumps, motors, manual and automated valves, and piping systems.

Maintain, diagnose, repair electrical & control systems of voltages from 24 V DC up to 480V 3-phase.

Read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting and repair.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

General housekeeping

Regularly climb ladders and stairs to perform tasks.

Respond to unforeseen breakdowns or callouts as needed on 24-hour basis.

Must be willing to work off-shift when operations requires.

Provide proof of any relevant education and/or training certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

2 or more years of experience working in electrical and mechanical repair in an industrial setting.

3 or more years working in the oil & gas, chemical, manufacturing, or packaging industry as a Journeyman or equivalent.

3 or more years of experience in maintenance working in industrial environment, or related military service.

Experience with low pressure boiler and utility systems

Working knowledge of NFPA 90 & NFPA 70E
