The position Student Information System Support Analyst operates in a cross-functional environment to support information technology solutions that improve business efficiency and productivity for the College. This position supports and enhances the college’s student information system by providing analysis, problem-solving, technical assistance, and support to students, staff, and departments using Banner. Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 20 pounds (occasionally may be more), repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical office and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required.

Essential Functions

Customer Support (35%)

Provides customer service and end-user support to the student services offices and other Banner administrative users.

Assists with preparing and publishing user guides and documentation and training faculty, students, and coworkers in functional duties related to student records.

Works with functional users and the applications team to make the college’s processes and Banner more user friendly.

Business Process Analysis (25%)

Works cross-functionally with departments to implement electronic functionality to streamline business processes and reduce manual processing by leveraging Banner, Adobe Sign, or other electronic systems.

Works closely with the student services offices and other departments to identify, develop, and implement best practices in Banner.

Plays a role in overseeing effective change management processes to drive improvements in scheduling, registration, graduation, and other essential student services.

Data Integrity Support (25%)

Ensures the quality and integrity of student data by documenting proper Banner data procedures and training end users on those procedures.

Provide first-line diagnostic/troubleshooting of issues related to data integrity and assists the Registrar and applications team with resolving duplicate record issues.

Works with stakeholders and vendors (SICAS, ITEC, SUNY, Ellucian) to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Coordinates data clean-up efforts with data custodians, institutional research, and IT.

Reviews user documentation written by others to confirm consistency with college procedures

Collaboration (5%)

Participates in applicable committees and cross-functional meetings and work sessions at CCC and within SUNY.

Attends regular training including Banner online modules, SUNY/SICAS and other collaborative training to stay current with changing technology.

Seeks professional development opportunities and training.

Other Duties (10%)

Analyzes current and evolving technology and functionality needs and assists the IT departments in establishing short term and long-term technology priorities.

Assists other team members and provides essential coverage for departments when needed.

Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Successful experience working in an end-user, customer facing role in a trouble-shooting capacity

Proven aptitude and enthusiasm to learn new technologies

Ability to manage work assignments requiring independent judgment, decision making, and autonomy that maintain compliance with IT policies and best practices

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree in a computer-related field and one year of experience, or associates degree and two years of related work experience

Good written and verbal communication skills

Proficient using Excel

Ability to work both independently and closely with others according to project needs

Proactive attitude and willingness to work in a team atmosphere

Preferred Qualification:

A Bachelors Degree in a computer-related field

Functional knowledge of one or more of the following Ellucian Banner modules: Admissions, Accounts Receivable, Finance, Financial Aid, General, Human Resources, or Student

Two or more years of experience working with Banner administrative pages

Experience with Adobe Acrobat Sign or other electronic signature platform

Experience with Argos reporting tool

Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including, but not limited to relevant experience, education, market demands, and training.
