Budget & Finance Director

 

 

 

The Office of the Provost is searching for a Budget and Finance Director, a key member of the Business Operations Team in the SVC and Office of the Provost OTP. They will be expected to participate and contribute to team projects and goals but will also have their own responsibilities to manage. Incumbent is responsible for the development and management of all budget and fiscal related activities in the OTP. General responsibilities include: oversee the financial and budgeting operations; conduct complex financial analyses; develop comprehensive financial reports; manage access to user applications; work directly with vice provosts, associate vice provosts, program directors and administrators to manage all operating and restricted accounts; and partner with the Human Resources Director and Business Operations Coordinator to manage payroll actions for all employees; serve as a back-up to the Associate Vice Provost for Business Administration; assist in the recommendation and implementation of policies and procedures which effect budgeting and finance; and maintain relationships with individuals responsible for budgetary matters within the RCs and Departments under the SVC and Provost area.

This position requires an individual with demonstrated financial management and accounting skills and initiative to lead projects and build relationships with departmental staff as well as a broad constituency across the University. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Meticulous organizational skills and the ability to handle matters expediently with high levels of accuracy are critical. The ability to problem solve and provide sound recommendations to the AVP for Business Administration is essential in this position. Advanced software skills are needed to prepare reports and organize data. Ability to use independent judgment and make decisions is essential for success. Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and respond quickly to changing priorities. A minimum of a Baccalaureate degree is required with 7 years experience in increasingly more complex financial roles.

 

Job Summary

Oversees financial and budgetary operations and ensures compliance of all activities with all policies, procedures, and regulations. Prepares and reconciles budgets, allocates funds, and oversees the budget modification process and audit scheduling. Establishes goals, implementation strategies, and financial systems.
