The University of Pittsburgh is seeking applicants for a post-doctoral researcher in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. This Post-doc position will be at UMPC Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh. The Post-doc will be responsible for carrying out basic and translational molecular biology experiments using human samples and pre-clinical animal models under the direction of the laboratory principal investigator. The focus of the position will be on influenza pathogenesis and vaccine efficacy. The Post-doc will be required to design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and present findings orally and in writing. In addition, attendance at laboratory and departmental meetings and seminars is required. The Post-doc is expected to be able to work independently on projects and able to multi-task with multiple studies. Further, the post-doc is expected to collaborate within the laboratory and department. A PhD is required for this position in a biomedical field. The ability to effectively communicate science in English orally and written is required. In addition, experience with small animal experimentation, influenza modeling, and human sample studies is desired.
