The Process Improvement Coordinator position is a full-time position responsible for overseeing safety initiatives to improve the safety environment of Morton Buildings, Inc. and Lean initiatives to increase production and improve quality to better service our customers. The Process Improvement Coordinator will analyze processes and identify ways to reduce waste, improve workflow and increase efficiency in plant operations.

Responsibilities
Serves as the Subject Matter Expert for Safety within the designated facility; presenting on safety-related topics and metrics, managing the safety training program and training matrix and conducting training as needed, leading the Safety Committee, and aiding supervisors with close calls, near misses, incident investigations and any required incident reporting.
Fosters a culture of safety through daily observation of safety awareness; identifying potential hazards, generating 5S reports, coordinating with supervisors to eliminate non-compliance with safety rules and maintenance of sites OSHA 300 log.
Assures product and process quality by performing Quality Control audits of plant manufactured items, maintaining standard operating procedures and managing third party audit programs, such as UL, ATI, and TPI.
Maintains the quality and integrity of shipments; monitoring daily picking and loading procedures, conducting load audits for pick/pack accuracy, performing spot-checks on incoming freight, following up with vendor-related issues and issuing Quality Rejection Notices as needed.
Performs root-cause analysis for quality and/or safety incidents within the designated facility to ensure timely resolution and sharing of best practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2 year degree or 5 years of experience in related field
Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry and DOT regulations
Willingness to be further trained in disciplines such as 5-S/Lean Manufacturing and 6-Sigma Certifications
Promotes teamwork and demonstrates leadership skills
Displays an aptitude for teaching and coaching safety
Process minded, problem solver, with vision for continuous improvement
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow through
Highly organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
