We have an upcoming Spring Internship for an Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern in Lititz, PA – Onsite

This is a paid internship

Overview of the Role:

This position will enable the intern to gain valuable experience developing, writing and implementing procedures, training and assessments.  Work will be performed in a manufacturing and/or distribution center atmosphere which will enable understanding of processes that will help establish the program requirements to meet regulatory and company requirements.  

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Regular attendance is required to maintain the functions of the job

Research, prepare and publish written safety or environmental programs, standard operating procedures and job aids that meet regulatory compliance and Woodstream EHS standards. 

Research and develop and audit program including assessment checklists that meet regulatory compliance for key EHS programs.

Assist Corporate EHS team members with their projects, as well as your own assigned projects. Communicate/present project status as requested.

Work with all personnel in a pleasant and productive manner that contributes to the overall success of Woodstream. 

Any other EHS functions as assigned by Manager.

Successful Candidate Profile:

Active pursuit of Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, or other related field at an accredited college/university.

Ability to multi-task and coordinate various activities simultaneously.

Exceptional skill in using computer software, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook 

Strong written & verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.

Flexible; quickly responds/adapts to change in an environment with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities. 

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Positive attitude: ability to work positively with people at all levels.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION :

Develop an interactive Corporate-wide Incident Investigation Training Program to include 5-why process.

Support development and implementation of EHS programs for a new distribution center.

Research and develop an audit program including assessment checklists that meet regulatory compliance for key EHS programs.
