Overview:
The Executive Associate Program is designed for 2nd year MBA students who seek to accelerate their career within M&T Bank. Program hires will undergo an immersive leadership experience designed to develop leadership competencies and strategic capabilities. Throughout the first year, the incoming cohort will be introduced to Program alumni, bank wide leadership, and collaborate with peers to drive change to support the vision and goals of the Bank.
Department Description:
The Regional Commercial Bank is comprised of our core market businesses that are oriented to serve customers in our local communities. We identify our client needs and align them with optimal solutions, all while managing the total customer experience. We work together to better understand what our customers want and need – continuously evaluating everything from our delivery to our product set – to make M&T more appealing to new clients and welcome in new communities. As an Executive Associate within this role, you’ll collaborate with the Head of the Regional Commercial Bank and the Leadership team to provide support in the development and communication of long term strategies in support of the Commercial Bank’s goals. Youll gain exposure to the strategy behind our Commercial market. In time, there could be potential to pivot into a more sales driven function within Commercial Banking.
Your responsibilities could include:
Partner with Commercial Business Strategy to align on business plans and growth strategies and translate those desired outcomes into operational actions for frontline teams including the design of annual sales goals and annual performance objectives.
Follow market trends and developments to increase the Bank’s business in established and developing markets while optimizing performance
Establish, monitor, analyze, and report key performance objectives and insights related to sales productivity, pipeline and forecast accuracy, and areas of opportunities.Responsible for bringing transparency to all stakeholders and play a key leadership role in the prioritization of the segments sales enablement initiatives using agile practices.
Assists the team in addressing problems/solutions, risks and issues. Analyzes information, determining feasible solutions, partner with project team in innovating on recommendations to business line. Apply critical thinking to independently navigate problems/issues.
Develop and produce basic ad hoc and automated departmental analyses and reports (incl. workflow analysis, project analysis, trend reporting, strategic analysis, other…). Ability to distill information and create an executive summary to drive action.
Participates in a formal call program to develop new loan, deposit and fee based business.
Follows market trends and developments to increase the Banks business in established and developing markets.
Assist and and support customers seeking loan and/or deposit relationships with the Bank, interviews applicants to develop information concerning their businesses and requirements, evaluates credit information and makes relationship recommendations.
Adhere to all standards and procedures ensuring high quality work and that efforts are appropriately and accurately documented.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
Scope of Responsibilities:
Perform project/management related assignments in field of expertise within the Executive Associate Program.

Education and Experience Required:
Completed MBA from an accredited business school.
Minimum two years professional, full time work experience.
Demonstrated leadership potential, as evidenced through previous work experience, extracurricular activities, or community involvement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and critically analyze complex business challenges
Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,000 – $171,000. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above encompasses all geographic locations. The pay rate specific to your location will fall within this range and is available from your recruiter.
