We are looking for a Shop Technician to join our Service Team in Willow Grove! Our technicians are a big reason why we have such an outstanding reputation in the material handling industry. Along with expertly servicing lift trucks our technicians are often the main point of contact for our customers. Which is why we put so much pride in hiring dedicated techs, giving them hands-on-training, and focusing on their continued success.
What is the job?
If you enjoy troubleshooting electro-mechanical problems due to breakdown of customer equipment and recommending action to make corrections, then this might be the job for you.
Effectively analyzes problem situations pertaining to breakdowns of customer equipment and recommends action necessary to correct situation to customer.
Exhibits a professional demeanor, promotes goodwill between the company and customers by providing a superior level of customer service.
Performs necessary repairs and/or modifications to correct or change analyzed situation in a productive manner.
Performs maintenance on equipment for customers according to Pengate Handling, Inc., Scheduled Maintenance policy and procedures.
Prepares necessary documentation relating to each repair order to be neat and accurate manner.
Follows safety rules and ensures that hazardous waste is disposed of properly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintains parts and supplies inventory in shop.
Maintains shop area to ensure that it is clean, organized and hazard free.
Responsible for providing personal tools required for performing the job effectively and safely.
Responsible for keeping work area clean and free of clutter and keeping tools clean and in good repair.
What Makes Me Qualified?

An accredited high school diploma or technical degree from a trade school or 2-year college.
1-3 years of similar mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean motor vehicle record plus the ability to drive multiple hours daily.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and training materials, follow verbal and demonstrated instructions.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Demonstrates a good mechanical and electrical aptitude, effectively utilizing volt, ohm, multi-meters, and oscilloscope.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability to make recommendations according to their need.
Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, presses, forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes while demonstrating good safety practices including use of appropriate safety equipment when needed.
