We are seeking an experienced certified phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. Responsibilities include collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, explaining the venipuncture process to patients clearly and courteously, and demonstrating techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. You will also be responsible for fully understanding physicians orders, matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders, and checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. Additional duties include packaging specimens for transport, storing specimen samples at required temperatures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations, attending annual department trainings, and answering telephone calls to provide laboratory results.
