Production Supervisor (1st Shift)

Summary

Our Prince George, VA team is looking for a strong leader to manage the daily operations of hourly associates who are responsible for the receiving of finished goods, order processing production and/or shipping of all products leaving the warehouse. Supervisor must also assure all USDA, QA, facility management standards of quality, production, safety, ergonomics, Human Resources and other related facility and department goals and objectives

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Supervises the work performance of hourly team members which includes staffing, attendance, work performances and disciplinary actions.

Make hourly analytical checks on a variety of warehouse functions.

Ensures development and cross training of hourly team members across 2-3 different positions for rotation and continual production.

Attends and holds regular meetings to communicate and inform on quality, production, safety items, etc.

Ensures the daily production goals are communicated and met in accordance with USDA, QA and company standards.

Holds the ability to physically perform and cognitive awareness of each position within the department.

Supports facility High Performance Work Teams

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma / GED

Experience Requirements

4 Year College Degree or equivalent, previous supervisory experience, computer and/or data entry experience

Experience Preferred

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

1. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 2. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
