Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This role controls expenses and completes payments by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling supplier invoices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Routes all invoices for required approval as required.
Audits travel and expense expenditures for compliance to company policy; reports on items of non-compliance and seeks executive approval for payment of these items.
Performs PO matching, research and analysis of third-party and intercompany invoices for products and services. Audits price variances, reports findings and analyzes effect on general ledger accounts.
Analyzes open vouchers and vendor invoices to determine which invoices are processed for each check run.
Prepares all AP check runs, obtains signatures, mails checks and required documents to vendors.
Ensures all invoices are properly coded for data input.
Sets up new vendors, obtaining W-9 forms and performs general vendor maintenance.
Processes and prepares year-end 1099 forms and ensures compliance with required government reporting.
Responsible for updating and maintaining the Concur business expense reporting database.
Reconciles accounts payable checks within Apprise.
Assists with special projects as required.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Knowledge / training:
Familiar with full-cycle Accounts Payable process.
Understanding of departmental procedures and policies.
Proficiency with the software tools used within the department.
MS Office Suite.
Bank of America CashPro.
SAP Knowledge is desired or major ERP system with GR/IR processing.
Experience:
2 years of related experience.
