Job Summary:

As one of our Truck Mechanics, you will perform all routine, preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance of Messer commercial motor vehicles. You will assist regional maintenance teams with new technology or equipment installation and ongoing support.

Principal Responsibilities:

Preventive Maintenance

Conduct mileage & time-based preventative maintenance as scheduled

Complete visual inspections to capture defects and hazards before they become an issue

Complete all fleet issued maintenance bulletins & reminders

Corrective Maintenance

Repair equipment upon failures to ensure safe and reliable operation

Create a plan of action for all repairs required

Maintain Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and perform corrective actions as needed

Troubleshoot equipment with diagnostic programs

Maintain diagnostic tooling, shop tools, and shop equipment

Be available for on-call troubleshooting

Parts

Manage (order, account for, & issue) parts inventory to decrease down time

Ship and receive materials in an organized & timely manner

Keep parts storeroom clean, uncluttered, & organized

Safety

Able to follow all safe work practices and company safety guidelines

Able to lift, bend, and stand to meet physical requirements of position

Recording

Complete all work orders with documentation in distribution business platform

Follow checklists and protocol while conducting repairs

Teamwork

Collaborate with site management and local vendors to schedule equipment repairs

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

2 years of mechanical experience OR Certification from diesel mechanic trade school (Career Technical Education (CTE) certification qualifies)

Valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:

A CDL is preferred
