Within COI, the Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team is responsible for delivering improving the overall availability and efficiency for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have multiple teams focused on both Microsoft and lessor datacenter performance and all aspects of datacenter utilization effectiveness that includes power, water and labor. We are seeking a Senior Director of Datacenter Supply Chain Planning to create the strategy and vision for very complex supply plans. This role will provide the vision and strategy for determining the best operational model for optimizing service levels, costs, and inventory positioning. You’ll also drive the mid- to long-term strategy for moving materials, build, and shipments out of the factory.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations – Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership for essential analyses, and determine which “what-if” scenarios impact supply and demand management.
Provide the vision for the planning of raw materials, you will make key decisions to transition from old to new products while avoiding waste.
Create the strategy for the obsolescence of goods, and inform the team on any changes in demand build before issues occur.
Provide industry insights and direction regarding how to use tools for managing supply and driving improvements, leveraging summaries of complex systems to simplify supply chains and leading other transformational process improvements.
Ensure the team has access to essential data sources to analyze supply, oversee the use of dashboards for presenting analysis, and create the vision for overall data management.
Work closely with suppliers, you will remove obstacles and provide resources to create a favorable supply chain, review staffing, and set overall expectations for suppliers.
Serve as a key point of contact between teams for executive leaders while communicating priorities, driving clarity, and making and promoting recommendations for change.

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 10 years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
OR Masters Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 8 years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
OR equivalent experience
6 years’ people management experience
6 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

OR related field AND 10 years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing,
OR equivalent experience.
10 years’ people management experience
Supply Planning M6 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 – $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 – $299,400 per year.
