Now hiring a Records Supervisor at GRACEVILLE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Position Summary:

Reports to the deputy warden of programs. Directly supervises records clerk. Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to offender’s records and classification in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) and Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) directives.

Essential Functions:

1. Process incoming records and paperwork to ensure accurate record keeping.

2. Compile and tabulate data; review documents for accuracy, transport documents and maintain files.

3. Maintain the confidentiality of all offender information.

4. Maintain files on department records, cards, forms and correspondence sent, received and/or requiring further action.

5. Prepare strength logs on which offenders are received and departed.

6. Enter data concerning housing and jobs; print passes and distribute.

7. Maintain count board to reflect offenders being added to unit count.

8. Maintain records as stated by the records retention policy.

9. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and

intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.

10. Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years’ experience in clerical, secretarial, administrative support, technical program support, or count room experience to include one (1) year of computer operations required. Correctional unit operations experience preferred. A valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
