As an upholstery manager in a furniture factory, you play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and aesthetic appeal of upholstered furniture products. Your expertise and leadership can significantly impact production efficiency and customer satisfaction. The candidate we are seeking would be an upholstery manager in a busy commercial furniture factory responsible for upholstery work, overseeing the upholstery department and ensuring that all furniture pieces are upholstered to the highest quality standards. This role typically involves a mix of management, technical skills, and a deep understanding of upholstery materials and techniques.

salary: $20 – $23 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 7 AM – 3 PM

education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

Supervision:

Manage a team of upholsterers, providing guidance, training, and support.

Assign tasks and set production schedules to meet deadlines.

Working as an upholsterer along side direct reports

Quality Control:

Ensure all upholstered furniture meets quality standards and specifications.

Conduct inspections and address any defects or issues in the upholstery process.

Material Management:

Oversee the selection of fabrics, foam, and other materials needed for upholstery.

Manage inventory levels, ordering materials as needed.

Process Improvement:

Analyze production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.

Stay updated on the latest upholstery techniques and trends.

Collaboration:

Work closely with design, production, and sales teams to ensure that upholstery meets customer expectations.

Participate in weekly production meetings to provide updates on job progress and input concerning production methods.

Cost Management:

Monitor labor costs and materials usage to maintain budgetary constraints.

Work on strategies to reduce waste and optimize resource use.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Ensure that the upholstery department adheres to safety regulations and best practices.

Train staff on proper handling of tools and materials.
