The QA Test Consultant serves as the technical leader to the Travel Leisure Co. Quality team providing test automation strategic direction and best practices under the direction of the Senior Director of Technical Quality. He or she will partner closely with delivery and infrastructure peers to improve the quality and efficiency of the solution delivery pipeline for the IT organization. Embodies a strong drive for advancing QA capabilities, automation and continuous testing. They will directly oversee a core automation team and serve as a Center of Excellence for the broader quality assurance team.
How Youll Shine:
Define process and frameworks for automation testing practices including defining and executing on strategic roadmaps to expand team capabilities. Strategize how automated testing will integrate into the delivery and CI/CD pipelines across multiple initiatives/teams.
Mentor and direct core onshore and offshore automation team, including serving as Center of Excellence for broader project delivery teams. Drive the adoption of proven automated testing patterns and technologies to ensure timely, high-quality releases. Ability to technically assess and drive opportunities in testing suites to increase efficiency or effectiveness. Define metrics, key performance indicators, reporting and communication to leaders and teams that provides results in a clear format highlighting trouble areas and suggesting solutions.
Research and evaluate new technologies to expand practice and capabilities for test automation. Perform and lead Proof of Concepts, Proof of Values, and Prototyping as needed.
Build partnerships with engineering and infrastructure teams to address quality improvements of technology solutions delivery including existing and new products.
Define and forecast resourcing needs to support project efforts in automation.
What Youll Bring:
Bachelor’s or masters degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business or equivalent years of experience and certifications
ISTQB certification in automation testing preferred
Agile or CSM training and/or certification preferred
Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors; including senior managers and executives
Exceptional focus on quality and strong attention to detail
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and collaboration skills with a proven ability to drive cross-team technical discussions and decision making
Pro-active with high levels of energy, tenacity and enthusiasm to delivery results
Ability to influence and be persuasive. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and problems and follow through to completion
Proven technical leadership in component, API and Services, UI, and end-to-end test automation
Eagerness and willingness to learn the latest automation test engineering trends
Ability to take ownership and deliver on strategic roadmaps while mentoring and directing team members with strong planning and organization skills
Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
Proven technical knowledge of full range of infrastructure components and functions
5 years of experience in automation testing across large, complex systems
Demonstrated knowledge of the current landscape of automation testing tools, their best use and upcoming trends in the marketplace
3 years knowledge and experience creating Selenium Java automation frameworks
1 years knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
Experience with DevOps
Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming languages
5 years performing risk assessments, time estimates and resource estimates
4 years implementing and managing automated testing systems/frameworks
3 years leading projects/teams effectively
Experience in an organization which leverages offshore/remote staffing
