We are looking to add an MRI Imaging Education Specialist to our team. In this role, you will provide all training for modality upgrades and technical advances and execute the MR safety practices as defined for each location.
A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening/Night/Weekend, from 6:00am-3:00pm or 11:00am-8:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Coordinate and perform clinical and research exams.
Produce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
Provide technical assistance and training to physicians, technologists, students, industry representatives and regional imaging facilities.
Work with Education Coordinator to establish and coordinate educational training sessions, course syllabus and education credits.
Act as a specialty resource related to patient care, imaging, and technology.
Perform the development component, including data collection, recording and analysis for Clinical and Research Imaging.
Work with Clinical and Research Departments to develop protocols which would promote the ability to publish.
Attend vendor-specific training sessions.
Advise on MR conditional guidelines or executes decisions (as per the MRMD policy/guidance) as to approval or denial of scanning for specific implants in specific clinical situations/questions.
Research, approve, and triage patients with active implants.
Perform American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation
Update MRI protocols on scanners as needed or directed by MRI section head
Update MRI Imaging Education SharePoint as needed
MR education and safety resource for Radiologists, Technologist, and LIPs
Orientate and train new hires.
May be required to rotate through all diagnostic imaging MRI locations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Registered Technologist (R.T.(R)(ARRT)) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in good standing.
Certified in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(R)(MR)(ARRT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Certified by ABMRS (American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety) within 12 months of hire achieving the status of Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO), Magnetic Resonance Safety Certified (MRSC™).
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Five years of recent modality experience with the ability to optimize equipment site specifications.
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes.
Knowledge of and ability to execute MRI safety protocols and standards.
Can communicate well with Radiologists, Physicians and Technologists. Coordinates proper imaging of patients.
Can function well with minimal or no direct supervision.

Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
